in the garden - lilacs

this time each year i anxiously await the blooming of lilacs on the island and in the yard.  they come and go so quickly, not lasting more than a week or so. I was traveling last week and missed the peak,
returning home to find that mine had already bloomed and were now fading.  I guess i will need to wait another year to drink in the spender of it's fragrance.

cannery cove park

since i have lived on bainbridge island quite some time now. i was so pleasantly surprised when i discovered this little gem of a park.  so surprised that i have lived hear all these year's and never had discovered it before.  It goes by many names - cannery cove park, strawberry park,  john nelson park. it's a beautiful and quite spot and an easy walk for day trippers or visitors walking from downtown winslow.

simple pleasures - a baby fawn

spring brings new little fawns to the garden passing through with their mothers.... the mother jumped the fence and this little baby couldn't yet make it over. running back and forth until i could open the gate, so she could join her mother on the other side of the fence.

soon they will return to devour the garden!!
